Sonderborg Aviation Centre (SAC)

Sonderborg Airport is already established as an operational training centre for Aerodrome Flight Information Service education - relating to the role usually referred to as AFIS-operators, which are the personnel who work the control towers in medium-sized and smaller airports.

Currently the main customers are the Norwegian aviation authority Avinor, who oversee the operation of 46 larger and smaller airports, together with Mærsk and Gas, who use AFIS-operators to handle the helicopter traffic to and from the North Sea platforms.

SAC would naturally like very much to expand further upon this area of business; and also to develop and offer new opportunities in education and further education, broadly aimed at the aviation world.

SAC thereby contribute to the positive cycle of development and innovation at Sonderborg Airport.
